MSG Plus is a regional sports network serving viewers primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. This TV guide provides an overview of how to navigate the MSG Plus TV schedule, understand local broadcast listings, and locate program times for regional sports coverage, studio analysis, and related athletic programming.

About MSG Plus

MSG Plus operates as part of the MSG Entertainment and Sports media portfolio alongside its sister channel, MSG Network. Originally launched to expand regional sports broadcasting across the New York metropolitan area and surrounding markets, MSG Plus delivers dedicated coverage of professional sports franchises, collegiate athletics, and original sports programming. Channel availability depends on local cable, satellite, and authorized digital television providers within its designated broadcast region.

MSG Plus TV Guide & Schedule Overview

Using a comprehensive TV guide allows viewers to track daily and weekly program times on MSG Plus. Broadcast schedules are arranged chronologically and typically include several distinct programming blocks throughout the day:

  • Morning & Daytime: Includes encore broadcasts of recent games, condensed match highlights, news recaps, and regional outdoor or sports lifestyle programming.
  • Evening & Prime Time: Focuses on live pre-game analysis, live game coverage of partner teams, and post-game coverage during major athletic seasons.
  • Late Night: Features re-airs of evening games, nocturnal sports talk shows, and extended highlight compilations.

Because broadcast schedules fluctuate depending on live game durations, overtime play, and seasonal event shifts, checking the daily schedule ensures viewers catch exact airtimes for specific broadcasts.

How to Use MSG Plus TV Listings

Checking updated TV listings is the most effective way to plan your viewing on MSG Plus. When reviewing daily listings, consider the following key elements:

  1. Verify the Date: Select the specific day you plan to watch to view accurate show times.
  2. Check Time Zone Alignment: Most MSG Plus programming is scheduled according to Eastern Time (ET). Viewers outside the primary broadcast market should convert listed airtimes to their local time zone.
  3. Identify Live vs. Re-Air Broadcasts: Listings typically mark events as "Live," "New," or "Re-Air" so you can distinguish fresh coverage from rebroadcasts.
  4. Review Pre-Game and Post-Game Times: Live sporting events often feature dedicated pre-game programming immediately preceding the main event, followed by post-game studio analysis.

Programming & Content Categories

MSG Plus features a variety of sports-oriented programming categories tailored to regional sports fans:

  • Live Professional Sports: Regular season and select postseason coverage for regional hockey, basketball, and soccer teams.
  • Studio Analysis & News: In-depth discussion shows featuring sports analysts, team insiders, coach interviews, and beat reporter updates.
  • Collegiate Athletics: Coverage of regional college basketball, football, and secondary college sports events.
  • Sports Documentaries & Specials: Retrospective profiles of legendary athletes, iconic franchise moments, and behind-the-scenes team documentaries.

Regional Variations & Time Zones

Broadcast rights and regional blackout regulations can cause variations in MSG Plus programming depending on your location. Cable and satellite providers in different sub-markets (such as Upstate New York versus the New York City metropolitan area) may occasionally carry alternative game feeds or regional blackout programming. Always verify listings with your local television provider to confirm channel numbering and regional availability.
